Background. The use of cryptocurrency in e-commerce has become increasingly important in the modern digital economy due to its key advantages, including enhanced transaction security through cryptographic protocols, fast international payments without intermediaries, reduced banking fees, and improved access to global markets and customer bases. However, the integration of cryptocurrencies also raises important legal and regulatory challenges related to ownership, taxation, exchange, and liability, requiring new commercial law frameworks.
Methods. The study develops a modern methodological approach to improving the use of cryptocurrency in e-commerce. It employs several research methods, with a particular focus on IDEF modeling to construct a structured representation of the system and its processes. This approach is used to design a model that enhances the effectiveness of cryptocurrency integration in e-commerce systems.
Results. The study presents a decomposed model aimed at improving the use of cryptocurrency in e-commerce. The proposed model outlines a structured framework for optimizing cryptocurrency transactions and their integration into electronic commerce systems while highlighting the need for regulatory adaptation. The findings also emphasize the limited consideration of country-specific regulatory environments.
Conclusions. The research concludes that cryptocurrency has significant potential to enhance efficiency, security, and global reach in e-commerce. However, its effective implementation requires the development of updated legal frameworks and regulatory mechanisms. Future research should expand the modeling approach by incorporating financial security considerations and cross-country regulatory differences to improve practical applicability.
